November Wrap-Up

November Wrap-Up

Hello Kittens! I can’t believe we’ve finally arrived at the last month of the year. I feel as though I blinked and November was gone. That being said, I managed to get a little reading done last month. There were some great reads in that bunch.

I made more progress in the Illuminae Files series, and will hopefully be finishing it up in December. All of those other series that I was going to get to this year….yeah, we’re not talking about those. Overall, for a hectic month at work, I was really pleased with how many titles I was able to get through. I continue to be grateful for all of the audiobooks that allowed me to keep up a decent reading pace. It also helps keep my traffic frustrations under control. As long as I’m not running late, I may be one of the few people around who doesn’t mind getting stuck in a traffic jam, because that means I’ll get through a few more chapters. 🙂

October Wrap-Up

Hello Kittens! It’s been a slower reading month for me, and for the first time, possibly ever, I “read” more audiobooks than physical books. I’ve been doing a lot of driving this month for various projects and the audiobooks have really helped me pass the time.

I’ve almost finished Eva Gates’ (a pseudonym for Vicki Delany) Lighthouse Library mysteries. I’m listening to the last currently published audiobook now and will finish it in the next few days. It is the first series that I’ve read in a long time that is consistently good in my opinion. Thus far, I have rated all of the books in the series 4 stars.

September Wrap-Up

Hello Kittens! I hope you’ve had a good September and that you are getting to enjoy a season change wherever you are. It has gotten a little cooler here in the South, so it is at least possible to be outside for extended periods of time without becoming a sweaty mess. September has been a good month for me in terms of my reading. It was my birthday month and I had 2 vacations (one long weekend for Labor Day and one week-long trip for my birthday) that helped boost my numbers. Any time you get to read more than you thought you would is good, right?

So this month I managed to read 3 of my 9 intended TBR books. I started an additional 2 of those titles and have not yet finished them. I’m not sure I’ll continue to publish a formal TBR since I seem to have trouble sticking to them even during good reading months. I like the freedom to flit about to whatever books I’m in the mood for.

Currently reading:

Take a Hint, Dani Brown by Talia Hibbert

The Rage of Dragons by Evan Winter

Kingsbane by Claire Legrand

August Wrap-Up

Hello Kittens! It’s hard to believe it, but August has already come to an end. It was a decent month of reading for me, but I didn’t quite get to my entire planned TBR once again. Without further ado, here’s how I did.

Mid-Month Wrap-Up

Hello Kittens! I’m just checking in with you on how the month is shaping up in terms of reading so far.

I’ve finished 5 books and reviewed a few of them for you. I’ve dnf’ed one book so far and had to return 1 book to my library. I’ve picked up a ton of books from the library, some of which I might even read this month, we’ll see….

**Links below go to each book’s page on Goodreads**

Books finished thus far:

The Night Bookmobile by Audrey Niffenegger (this one counts towards the Librarians in literature project, although it was not one of the titles that I originally picked this month.)

The Nothing Man by Catherine Ryan Howard (my favorite book so far this month)

All Eyes on Her by L.E. Flynn

Sadie by Courtney Summers (my second favorite book so far)

Self Care by Leigh Stein (this is a great take on the role social media plays in our lives when we take it to the extreme)

Did Not Finish:

I set Red Rising by Pierce Brown to the side for now. I made it about halfway through the book but was struggling to move forward with the storyline. I will definitely pick it up again at some point.

Sent Back:

I had to send Murder, She Wrote: The Murder of Twelve by Jessica Fletcher and Jon Land back to the library before I was able to read it. I’ll request it again and hopefully get it back before the end of the month.

Unexpected hold:

My hold for the House in the Cerulean Sea by T.J. Klune came in early, so I will be trying to fit that one in this month because I won’t be able to get it back for a while.
